Key Club

Advisor:  Mrs. Karagiannes

Key Club is a volunteer organization, an International Club, sponsored by the Kiwanis family. Messalonskee’s Key Club is sponsored by the Waterville Kiwanis organization.  Our goal as Key Club members is to assist organizations or groups in their events.  Many of our students have volunteered at the Homeless Shelter, craft fairs, Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers, Salvation Army, Family Violence Programs and local schools. Our club also helps out individuals who may need assistance with yard work or other projects they are unable to do.

Members learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, collecting dues and holding elected officers’ positions.

Member Requirements:

Requirements are flexible as COVID-19 has limited the number of activities where students can volunteer. A commitment to attend meetings is critical. Every meeting will count as 15 minutes of service.

Dues:

To become a member you must pay a fee of $12.00. Dues are collected so that Key Club can offer many services, service program material, leadership training, conventions and conferences, professional development, fellowship opportunities, member-support information, club mailings, and literature on member development, membership recruitment, public relations, and club officer training. The money goes to the New England District of Key Clubs and Key Club International so that we can all receive the information listed above.

See the Key Club bulletin board on your way up to the third floor.
