Messalonskee High School hosting Fall Playoff Games – read for rules/regulations/information

Our field hockey and football programs are in the playoffs and next games for each team will be at Veterans Field at Messalonskee High School. The field hockey game will be on Thursday November 2nd and football will be Saturday November 4th. We are excited for our teams, coaches, student body and the community for these events. However, these games will be different from the norm for games. Playoff games are run by the MPA for field hockey and the Pine Tree Conference (KVAC) for football. Here are some differences and considerations before you come to the game:
Field Hockey- The Northern Maine Regional Final games will be at Veterans Field and there will be three games on Thursday, one for each class in field hockey. We will play Skowhegan, at this time the time for the game has not been set, all indications are that it will be the late game and begin at 7:30. As we are the closest schools and can get back home more quickly than the other schools involved that day. The other games will be Cony vs. Belfast in Class B and Dexter vs. Foxcroft Academy in Class C. These are MPA events and the price for admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and Senior citizens (65+).
Beginning this fall, the MPA is making the transition to cashless, mobile tickets which provides the safest, easiest, and most convenient method of entry into all MPA championship events. Tickets to MPA games will be sold exclusively online via MPA (Maine) Events and Tickets by GoFan. The best advice we can give you is to buy tickets ahead of time at the MPA website (mpa.cc) and about half way down the page there is a link to buy Championship Tickets. Follow the link and it will take you to a page showing the Northern Maine Field Hockey Championships. Buy your tickets and when you come to the game, you will be asked to show the ticket on your phone and swipe your ticket at that time. We will have places to buy tickets at the game, but this will be the first time this system will have been used and there may be some delays at that time. Please get the word out to your family and friends who will be attending the game of this change. Again, the game times for the game will be confirmed later in the day, but the thought is getting this information out soon would be important.
Football- We will be playing Cony on Saturday November 4th at 5:00. We have delayed the start to allow people to attend the funeral and ceremony honoring Candice Parent who passed away. This is a PTC semi final game and admission for this game will be $5.00 for all who attend. Admission gates will open at 4:00 on Saturday.

Noisemakers that in any way interfere with the play of the game are not permitted. Schools may determine locally if they are going to allow noisemakers at their home contests.
Placards, signs, pennants, and shakers on sticks that restrict the view of other spectators are prohibited. Signs or banners may be hung, provided they are not obscene, inappropriate and do not contain profane language.
