From the Principal’s Desk…
Happy Tuesday Everyone:
The Senior End of the Calendar will be sent out this Wednesday. If you have any questions about the schedule of events please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
This Saturday is the Prom. It is being held at the Waterville Elks Club from 8:00-12:00. All students must arrive by 10:00 pm and I encourage them to stay until the end. The advisors and committee members have worked hard to make this an enjoyable event for all.
I would like to congratulate Ben Bard who has been named the Associated Builder’s and Contractor’s CTE Student of the Year. Ben is a student in the Finish Carpentry program and has excelled in recent competitions. Congratulations!
There are two budget hearings scheduled for this week. The first one is this evening beginning at 6:00 pm at China Middle School. The second hearing is scheduled for tomorrow night at Messalonskee Middle School also beginning at 6:00 pm.
Congratulations to the following students who are being recognized as our KVAC Honor Students: Fern Calkins, Megan Charrier, Francesco Guarnieri, Dylan Labun, Amy Laverdiere, Alyssa Michaud, Ethan Pullen, Dan Turner, Sarah VanDerKarr. They will be attending the Honor’s banquet tomorrow night at the Augusta Civic Center.
During April of last year students from all grade levels worked on a compilation of music that both honors and preserves the voices of the Jewish people. The end result is a beautifully produced cd called Songs of Darkness and Hope. This week they were presented copies of their work and I can honestly say that this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have heard performed by our students. Congratulations to all who had a part in this amazing project.
On Monday. May 8th from 4-8 pm the Belgrade Central School will be holding a fundraiser at the Texas Roadhouse. The money raised at this event will go towards their playground project. If you need additional information please contact Eric Brooks at Belgrade Central.
