From the Principal’s Desk…

Happy Spring!

What a beautiful weekend we just had. I hope you were able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather.

We have three student recognition events taking place this week. On Tuesday, May 23rd, JMG (Jobs for Maine Grads) will hold their annual closing ceremony in the PAC. This event recognizes the achievements of those students enrolled in JMG, in particular the upper grade level classes. The guest speaker for this event is the President of UMF-Kathryn Foster. On Wednesday evening the MHS Band and Chorus will be holding their last concert of the year. The senior students will be showcased during this performance (bring plenty of kleenex). Finally, on Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 pm MMTC will hold their student recognition ceremony at Lawrence High School.

Thank you to those of you who were able to attend last week’s budget presentation. I know that this is a busy time of the year for everyone and I want to thank you for making the time to be present at this meeting.

We are closing in on graduation activities. If you are a parent of a senior and you did not receive the senior mailing please let me know and I will make sure that you get a copy. Our first event is Baccalaureate which will take place on Sunday, June 4th, at 2:00. This is a non-denominational service conducted by the local faith based communities. The senior video will be showcased following this service and a small reception will follow the video presentation. Those students who have been selected to receive a scholarship and/or gold cords and medallions will be receiving an invite to attend the Scholarship ceremony on Sunday at 3:30. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at your convenience.

There will be no school next Monday as it is Memorial Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 30th.

Enjoy the week

Paula
