Principal’s Pen: January 2-5

Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday and a restful break. Mother Nature is sure making a statement with these cold temperatures and the threat of a snowstorm this week. The building is running a little on the cool side so I would suggest dressing in layers.

January is a fast moving month with a day off to observe Martin Luther King Day (1/15), Professional Development Day (1/22) and final exams. I have attached the exam schedule for you to have in advance. Final Exam Schedule 2017-2018

I would like to congratulate our December Students of the Month: Katelyn Douglass (Freshman), Victoria Terranova (Sophomore), Gabrielle Elkin (Junior), and Colin Kinney (Senior). We had 4 students earn Student of the Month Honors at MMTC: Megan Smith (Medical Careers), Jasmine Lambert (Mass Media Communications), James Pino (Criminal Justice), and Parker Brunelle (Construction Technology). Finally, I would like to congratulate Cole Smith for being selected as the newest member of the Varsity Club on WCSH6.

Our music students (band/chorus) had a busy December with many concerts being performed throughout the community. Bravo to all involved. All of our student athletes are putting in numerous hours on the courts, in the pool, on the mats and around the track. It is also important to recognize the efforts of our mathematicians (math team members) as they also put in many hours practicing and preparing for their next meet. As you can see we have many students doing awesome things at MHS.

Enjoy the week
