Principal’s Pen: November 5th-9th

Good Morning:

With the changing of time comes cooler days and longer nights. I hope everyone has had time to adjust to falling back an hour. Students have begun the second quarter of the first semester and many are navigating through the add/drop period. Grades closed last Friday and we will be looking through report cards at the end of the week to determine eligibility. Students will receive their report cards in advisory and we will mail home reports that indicate a student is either on academic probation or ineligible to participate in any extra/co-curricular activity.

The winter sports season is gearing up. Student athletes are meeting with the coaching staff to review the try-out schedules. For freshmen and students who are new to MHS we offer the following athletic programs: ice hockey, indoor track, swim, basketball, cheering, and wrestling. There are also a wide variety of clubs and organizations that are always looking for new membership.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming musical, Chicago. This is sure to be a grand performance! Dates and times for the show are as follows: November 15th, 16th and 17th (7:00 pm), November 18th (2:00 pm). Come early to get a good seat as I am sure attendance will be high for all performances.

Each month we will showcasing what “Learning Looks Like at MHS”. You will find on our main webpage photos that capture what students are doing in classes on a day to day basis. There is much going on at MHS and we want to share with you what students are learning. This spread is under construction at this point but we hope to have it up by the end of the week.

As we look to the week ahead here are some important dates:

November 12th: No School, Veteran’s Day

November 17th: Craft Fair, sponsored by the Robotics Team, 9:00 am
