Principal’s Pen: February 11-15
Good Morning:
It looks like we’re having to face another winter storm this week. Just when you thought that Spring might be right around the corner. February vacation is next week, February 18-22. I hope that everyone is able to enjoy their time off and get some much deserved rest.
Students received their course registration forms yesterday. They are due back to their school counselor by February 28th. If you have any questions about the courses that your son/daughter are considering for next year you have 3 options to explore: you can call your son/daughter’s school counselor for any questions you may have, you can visit the high school website and click on the link provided https://sites.google.com/a/rsu18.org/mhs-program-of-studies/?pli=1, or you can attend this year’s Curriculum Night which will be held on February 26, from 6:00-7:30 at the high school. All three options should help your student with his/her course selections.
Mr. Quigley recently shared some photos highlighting, “What Learning Looks Like at MHS”. Mr. Quigley-1Mr. Quigley-2Mr. Quigley-3Mr. Quigley-4 . As you can see students are engaged in their learning and are actively participating in their lab experiment.
Last week was National School Counselor’s Week and we want to thank our three counselors, Mr. Derosby, Ms. Sprague, and Mrs. Frame for all that they do to support our students. MHS School Counselors We would also like to thank Mrs. Stevens, Ms. York, and Mrs. Pettengill for the work that they do each day to meet the needs of our students.
Looking ahead to when we return from vacation there are a couple of dates that I would like to bring to your attention. On March 8th there is a workshop day and there will be no school that day. On April 12th we are planning a celebration for the new athletic complex and we will be sending out more information as plans are solidified.
