Principal’s Pen: April 1-5

Happy Spring:

While this month is a short one we have a lot of fun and exciting events happening at MHS. On the 12th we will celebrating the completion of our athletic complex with events planned for the youth in our community, ribbon cutting ceremony, and 2 varsity lacrosse games (girls will host Winslow and the boys will host Camden). I have attached an invite outlining the events Athletic-Celebration. I hope you will be able to join us.

Our Robotics Team will be competing this Friday and Saturday at the Pine Tress District Competition being held in Lewiston at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The event is free and open to the public.

This Thursday all third year students will be taking the Science Augmentation Test which is an off shoot of the SATs. The testing is required and will be administered in the afternoon of the 4th. Next Tuesday, April 9th all third year students will be taking the SATs. This test will take the majority of the day and again all students are expected to take this assessment. If your son/daughter is absent on the 9th there will be a make-up day on the 23rd of April.

There is no school on April 12th so students will be able to start their vacation a day earlier which I am sure they will appreciate.

Grades for 3rd quarter have closed and we will be handing out report cards at the beginning of next week. Just a reminder that we only mail home those report cards that have been stamped “Probation” or Ineligible”. Should you wish to have a copy mailed home to you please reach out to either Denise Caouette or Sarah Dube in the main office and they will be happy to send you one.

I will be working on the senior letter and calendar over the break and should have it in the mail the week we return from break. In the letter you will find a calendar of senior events such as marching practice, graduation contract along with the project graduation contract, senior last assembly, and graduation.

We would like to congratulate the following students who were chosen as the March Students of the Month.

Gr. 10- Alexis Ames
