MHS Empty Bowls
The Empty Bowls event was a wonderful success this year! Over the years, it has morphed into a community event where people from all over the district come to mingle and support the cause. Students in the pottery classes and adults from the community contributed to making handmade bowls. Students from Key Club and Student Council served soup, bused tables, sold tickets, and helped diners select the bowls of their choice.
This year we raised $3,719 from the dinner. The money will be divided equally among Oakland, Sidney, Belgrade/Rome food pantries. The money came from ticket sales, silent auction items, donations from MHS Drama and a donation from the Union Church in Belgrade Lakes.
Thank you to the following churches that provided soups and desserts: Oakland Methodist Church, Sidney Baptist Church, and Living Water Church.
On behalf of Wendy Burton, Sherrie Damon, and all of us that continue to produce the Empty Bowls Dinner, I want to thank everyone who helped make this event successful.
