MHS Students of the Month – May 2019
The May Student of the Month assembly proved to be a clean sweep for the girls as freshman Emma Palleschi, sophomore Brooke Martin, junior Rebecca Bourque, and senior Emma Kennard took the honors.
For Emma Palleschi, a member of the Math Team, the classroom is a place where she excels and in large part because she is always engaged in the lessons and willing to ask intelligent questions about any material or concepts she is unclear about. Emma has established herself as a role model for peers through her work ethic and responsible behavior.
Many, if not all the same accolades, could be said of Brooke, the sophomore winner. She comes to class each day with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. Described as a “great all-around student,” Brooke also is a nice person who is always willing to help classmates.
Rebecca, the junior recipient, is known for her strong personality. At the same time, Rebecca is open to listening and considering other students’ perspectives and being respectful of those views. Outside the classroom, Rebecca enjoys cooking for her family and hiking.
Senior winner Emma Kennard is more involved in the school community than most people would think humanly possible. While maintaining excellent grades, Emma still manages to compete on the tennis team, create costumes for the school play, participate in both the Greenhouse and Outing clubs, volunteer as a senior mentor, and serve as a band officer. Whew! Now that is an active student.
