Hello Everyone:

School Spirit is alive and well at MHS this week. The hallways are decked out in red, white, and blue thanks to the parents of our student athletes. The 100, 200, 300 wings are decorated in themes selected by each class. The school was very busy yesterday with all the decorating. I have attached some photos for you. Field Hockey, Football, Golf,  X-Country,  Soccer-2 Soccer-3

The Homecoming Parade will kick off this evening at 6:00 pm from the student parking lot. It will make it’s way down High Street, Main Street and then swing around to the access road which will lead them back to the high school. At the conclusion of the parade all are encouraged to head to the bleachers to recognize the student athletes and the coaching personnel as we call each team on to the field. We will conclude with a tug-of- war competition amongst the teams.

The flu clinic is this Thursday for high school students. If your son/daughter is planning to take advantage of this clinic they must return their permission slip to the school nurse prior to the actual clinic. We do have extra forms available in the main office should you need a new one. We will be transporting students down to MMS for their shot as well as bring them back to the high school once everyone is cleared to return.

Thank you to all who were able to be here for the NEASC meeting last Sunday. Our visit from the committee went very well. They complimented our student body on several occasions as well as the outstanding staff that we have. The next step will be to wait and hear from the NEASC commission as to what our final status will be. As soon as that report is released we will be sharing it with all of you.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner and I have included the link for you to sign up for your times. If you find that you are having difficulty getting in to the program please reach out to Kathy Pettengill in the guidance office and she will try to help you out. The dates and times for the conferences are: October 9th, 5:00-8:00 and October 10, 3:00-6:30. There are a few teachers who will not be available that evening due to outside commitments but I have asked that they reach out to you should you request a meeting with them.

On October 16th all freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSATS. The seniors will not have classes that day. They are to use this day for catching up on their community service hours, completing college applications, visiting college campuses, job shadowing or any other project they need to work on. Each senior will be given a form to complete indicating what their intent is for that day. Both the student and parent will need to sign the form and return it to the main office prior to October 16th.
Enjoy the week
Paula
