Principal’s Pen: December 30-January 3

Hello:

As we move into the new year I want to share with you some important dates and events that are coming up. We will welcome students back this Thursday, January 3rd. I hope that everyone was able to get some down time and do the things that they enjoy doing.

Our first semester final exam schedule is as follows:

January 14th: Period 1 (r), full day of school

January 15th: Period 1 (w), full day of school

January 16th: Periods 2 and 3, half day of school, dismissal at 11:00

January 17th: Periods 4 and 5, half day of school, dismissal at 11:00

Students will be able to make exams up during the afternoons of January 16th and 17th. Second quarter grades will close the afternoon of the 17th and we hope to have report cards available on January 24th.

We do not have school on January 20th as it is Martin Luther King Day and on the 21st there is a full day workshop for teachers and school will not be in session.

Looking way ahead to the 2020-2021 school year we will be getting the course sign-up sheets out to all students in grades 9-11 the week of February 10th. We will be heading down to the middle school the week we return from February break to begin the registration process with the incoming freshmen. Our annual Curriculum Night will be held February 25th from 6:00-7:30 at the high school. This event will give you an opportunity to talk with your son/daughter’s current teachers and ask questions specific to course selections for the upcoming school year. We hope that you will be able to join us but if the timing doesn’t work for you please feel free to contact teachers and/or the school counselors directly and they will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

I wish you all a New Year that is filled with happiness, good health and lots of fun-filled memories.

Paula
