Hello Everyone:

This is the time of year that I truly enjoy. The level of excitement increases the closer we get to graduation as well as the end of the school year. Last night the seniors conducted their senior prank by placing hundreds of red solos cups throughout the building, rearranging some classrooms, and hiding some of the teacher’s chairs. All was done in good fun and I hope they enjoyed the time they were together.

Tomorrow the seniors will begin their final exams and I have re-posted for you the schedule:Spring 2021 Final Exam Schedule

We are thrilled to be able to hold our graduation ceremony at the Augusta Civic Center this year. For those of you who have attended in the past things will look almost the same. A few changes that have been made are as follows; all in attendance will need to wear a mask and remain seated throughout the entire ceremony. Several of you have reached out to request handicap seating for a family member. In your son/daughter’s ticket envelope you will notice that there are colored tickets which are to be used for the reserved handicap seating along with two regular floor tickets. The doors will open at 6:00 pm which will give everyone time to find a seat without feeling rushed. Don’t forget the senior parade on June 1st beginning at 6:15 pm. All senior activities (Scholarships and Awards- May 30th at 11:00 am, Senior Last Assembly- June 3rd at 9:00 am and Graduation-June 3rd at 7:00 pm) will be live streamed and you will be able to find the links posted on our web page.

For our underclassmen we will begin final exams on June 4th and I have provided that schedule for you as well: Spring 2021 Final Exam Schedule We will be holding our end of the year assemblies for the underclassmen on June 7th and we look forward to recognizing all of their academic accomplishments.

Laptop collection will take place on June 9th, 10th and 11th from 8:00-2:00 pm. Students can drop them off either in the classroom of their last final exam or by swinging by the high school during the times listed. If you were given a hotspot to use during the school year we would ask that you return that as well.

The school counselors are working to make sure that the schedules for students returning in the fall are as balanced as they can be. We will release those schedules in a mailing that will go out to all students at the beginning of August. As always, if a student finds they need to change their schedule they should plan to meet with their school counselor prior to school starting, if possible. The guidance office will be staffed by a secretary all summer so making an appointment should be fairly easy.

For those of you who will be junior parents I will be reaching out to you over the summer to see who may be interested in chairing or co-chairing the junior auction as well as the prom. These are two major fundraising events for this class and we could use all the help that we can get.

I hope you all are able to take some time this summer to recharge and enjoy the Maine summer season.

Enjoy the day

Paula
