Principal’s Pen: April 25-29

Good Morning:

Well May is right around the corner and with it comes the end of the year celebrations. For the seniors I have mailed out (this morning) a letter outlining upcoming events, the contracts for both Graduation and Project Graduation, as well as the calendar of events. Please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding any of the activities. Just a reminder to seniors that it is very important for you to complete your community service requirement. If you have already accumulated the necessary hours but haven’t turned in the form yet please do so as soon as possible.

Now that spring is here and the weather seems to be improving I wanted to share with you some topics of concern that we will be addressing with the student body during the assembly on Wednesday. The first conversation will center around appropriate attire. We ask that students use good judgement when selecting what to wear to school. Shorts, shirts and skirts should be a length that is both comfortable and appropriate for school. The second topic is the increase in students driving recklessly on school grounds. Speed seems to be a contributing factor to students not driving appropriately. And finally, we will be addressing the increase use of vapes on school grounds. The need to use these devices during the school day is getting out of hand. We are hopeful that by sharing our concerns with the studentsĀ  they will make better decisions about all three of our concerns.

Below are some important dates to put on your calendar for the month of May.

May 5th: Progress Reports

May 17th: Early Release Day

May 19th: NWEA testing for all third year students, freshmen/sophomores/seniors will spend the morning time performing community service on campus, all students will participate in Spring Fling after lunch

May 21st: Junior/Senior Prom, 8:00-11:00 at the Waterville Elks Club, all tickets are $25.00

May 24th: Science test for all third year students, freshmen/sophomores/seniors will be attending regular classes

As we move through the weeks ahead my newsletters will be more frequent so please check in weekly for updates news.

Enjoy the week

Paula
