Exploring Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”
Arianna Karp, professor at Colby College, recently visited Messalonskee High School and directed a production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth – which high schoolers were reading during the weeks leading up to her visit. Karp spent the period showing students how, as an actor and director, she makes decisions about the characters, story, and use of space to create a powerful experience for the audience of the play. She also provided students with some interesting historical context for the play and explained why Shakespeare’s plays are still popular even today! #WeAreRSU18 #EaglePrideMHS
