Meet Peter McLaughlin, Assistant Principal of Messalonskee High School!
What was your greatest memory from last school year?
My favorite part of every school year is graduation. Helping our students cross the finish line and start the next chapter of their lives makes everything we do meaningful. I could not be more proud of last year’s graduating class.
What’s your favorite thing to do over the summer?
My favorite thing to do over the summer is spending time with my family. Whether we are at sporting events, in nature, or on the lake, our time together is full of laughter and making memories. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Tell us about your family!
They are my everything! I met my wife, Katie, at the University of Maine at Farmington and we have been married for 10 years. We have been blessed with two beautiful children, Peter and Jack!
Tell us something surprising about yourself!
My favorite time of the year is late fall and winter. I have completed several winter backpacking trips throughout the northeast. Yes, that means ice climbing and sleeping in the snow! 🙂
If you weren’t involved in the profession of education, what would we find you doing?
Great question!! I believe I would have become a college basketball coach or engineer. It makes me smile when I look back at decisions in life that take you down a different path. There is no question that I made the right decision in following my passions in education. We have amazing students here at Messalonskee High School.
