The mission of the Belgrade Lakes Region Business Group is to promote tourism in the Belgrade Lakes region—Belgrade, Oakland, Rome and Sidney.
One of our projects is to maintain the Belgrade Lakes Region Information Center, located on Route 27, just south of Belgrade Depot. We need volunteers to help staff this facility during the summer months. This is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to be ambassadors for our region as you help to introduce tourists to the recreational activities around the lakes, provide information on the diverse farmer’s markets, lectures and musical events that take place here throughout the summer, and tell visitors about the incredible variety of places to eat and to stay.
The Information Center is stocked with maps and pamphlets from area business that you can distribute. Weekends tend to be busiest, so we would appreciate volunteers who could staff the Information Center for a 4-hour shift on a Friday or Saturday afternoon, although all enthusiastic volunteers are welcome.
