Principal’s Pen: September 14th-18th
Your sons and daughters are rock stars! Our first week together could not have gone any better than it did. They were respectful of personal spacing, wore their masks without being asked, and sanitized their hands whenever they entered and exited a room. I am very proud of their efforts to follow the new “rules”.
Picture Day will take place on Tuesday, September 15th. Your student should have brought home an order form for you to fill out if you wish to purchase their pictures. We will be calling students down by advisory throughout the day and have set aside 1:00-2:00 for our students who are remote learners to come in and have their picture taken as well.
As you may have heard this fall’s sport season will look a little different than in past years. Mr. Foye is working with area athletic administrators to schedule matches and games with regional high school teams. He will be sending out the new protocols and expectations around sports this fall so be on the look-out for a posting on the athletic department’s webpage.
As we move forward we will be looking to start up a few more of our clubs and programs on campus. Students want to be engaged and at the same time have fun so it is important to offer as many opportunities as possible to do so.
Over the past week we have had a couple of teachers elect not to return to school this fall. We are working non-stop to try and fill these vacancies. If you have any questions regarding your son/daughter’s schedule please do not hesitate to reach out to either myself or your student’s school counselor.
Looking ahead I would like to remind you that September 22nd is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at noon time.
And finally, from now through December 31st our cafeteria is offering free breakfast and lunch to any student who wishes to participate. Students may get breakfast from 7:30-7:55 each morning and they may also pick up a lunch during their scheduled time to eat.
Enjoy the week
