Principal’s Pen: October 12-16
Next week is a short week as students will be home on Monday (holiday) and Friday (Teacher Workshop Day). Seniors will not be in school on Wednesday, October 14th as this is the day that they will participate in one of the following activities: college visit, community service, job shadow, college applications. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be taking the PSATs for the majority of the day.
We would like to congratulate the following students who have been selected as September’s Students of the Month:
Freshman: Brynn Lilly
Sophomore: Deveon Nolan
Junior: Sofija Kleinschmidt
Senior: Isabella Norman
I have attached for you a link to the video that was made announcing the winners. Congratulations to all our winners!
This year’s Spirit Week has been moved to the week of October 26-30. Students will be decorating their respective hallways, dressing up on theme days, and we will be offering a different take on the parade. This year each class will decorate a float (about the size of a utility trailer) out in the student parking lot on Monday, October 26th. Parents/Community members are invited to drive through the parking lot to view each of the floats and they are to vote for their favorite float by donating a canned food item to the class whose float they have selected. As is tradition the band will also be playing during the parade. LET’S GO MHS EAGLES!
This week I would like to publicly thank our custodians (Jason, Jeri-Lee, Ron, Victor, and Jenny) along with our “Germ Squad” (Emilia, Rebekah, Abigail, and Noelle) who have worked so hard to keep our school clean on a daily basis.
One last thing, for our remote learners if you are in need of additional support from your teacher(s) please do not hesitate to send them a quick email or ask them during one of your classes to tag you during guided study. I know that they are very willing to support your efforts.
Enjoy the week
