The Eagle Excellence Award went to a person who has gone above and beyond for the MHS community, and has done so for years. Over the course of the past two years this person has adjusted their daily schedule to help out when subs are not available. This person has also worked with the Maine Humanities Council to provide book discussions as part of the professional development opportunities for staff on relevant topics and encourages and responds to feedback in selecting themes and books. With her positive attitude, school spirit and problem solving approach, this person definitely deserves the Eagle Excellence Recognition. This month’s Eagle Excellence Award went to Sylvia Jadczak

As we approach the winter season we ask that whenever possible that students not be dropped off at school prior to 7:00 am. On days when we are experiencing inclement weather we cannot quarantee that someone will be here before 7:00 to let the students in.

For our senior students and their parents I have provided the link to our guidance webpage where you can find information on scholarships, financial ad and other relevant information specific to the senior year. As always please reach out to the school counselors for any specific concerns or questions you may have. https://mhs.rsu18.org/mhs-guidance/

If you or someone you know needs assistance with food or warm clothing please let me know as we have resources that are available to help out.

As you may have heard at the Winter Sports Parent meeting last night attendance at home basketball games will look a little different. All spectators will be required to wear a mask while in attendance. Each player will receive 6 tickets to give to family members so that they may attend the home games. There is no general admission this year so a team ticket is required to purchase your entry ticket. There will be no concession stand this year and no consumption of food or drink will be permitted in the gym. Students can purchase a ticket by showing their student identification the night of the game.

Finally, congratulations to the drama department for a great job with 12 Angry Jurors. We are looking forward to their spring production.

Enjoy the week

Paula
