Principal’s Pen: October 13th-20th

Good Morning:

At the beginning of the school year we surveyed the student body to get an idea of what they had in mind for post-secondary options. From the responses we received we have set up a monthly lunch and learn with local professionals who will be in attendance to educate the students on the educational background and qualifications one must have to pursue that interest. The only requirement for students is to sign-up ahead of time so we can make sure that we have enough food for everyone. These sessions will take place during both lunches and students are only expected to attend one of the sessions. The schedule is written below but please keep in mind that things could change based on the availability of the guest speaker.

October 27th: Lineman

November 17th: Graphic Designer

December 14th: Game Warden

On Monday, October 17th students who are 16, 17, and 18 years of age will have the opportunity to either pre-register (16 yrs. old) or register to vote (ages 17 and 18). Members from the Oakland, Belgrade, Sidney, and Rome town offices will be here during lunchtime on the 17th to register those students who wish to do so. The students must provide either a student id or a driver’s license.

First quarter grades will close on November 1st. If you were unable to attend Parent/Teacher conferences and would like to meet with your student’s teachers please reach out to them directly either by calling or emailing. If you need assistance with an email address please do not hesitate to contact either the main office of the guidance office.

We would like to thank you, the parents, as well as our extended community members for your support during Homecoming Week. While the week  itself was overwhelming and exhausting the success of the many events held was due in part to your participation.

Just a reminder to seniors that your class dues need to be paid in full before you receive your cap/gown. The remainder of the dues is put towards graduation expenses such as the senior t-shirt, flowers and other items. The amount owed is $20.00 per year that you have been in attendance at MHS. If you are unsure as to whether or not you have paid your dues please see Ms. Callan

Enjoy your weekend
