Principal’s Pen: September 23-27
Happy Monday Everyone:
I hope that you were able to spend a little time outside this past weekend. We could not have asked for better weather.
We are in the throws of our NEASC accreditation visit. We are hosting guests from around the state as well as New Hampshire and Vermont. One remark that has resonated with me was made by one of the co-chairs and he said that he is very impressed with the culture of our school, from students and staff alike. We know that we have an amazing student body and supportive staff but it is always nice to hear such remarks from a visitor. As previously mentioned we will be briefed on Wednesday afternoon as to what the committee found our strengths to be as well as some of challenges that we must work on. When the final report is shared with us we will be posting it on-line for all to read.
Next week is Homecoming Week and all four classes are working hard on their float designs as well as their hallway decorations. This year we opted not to do the bonfire but instead have everyone report to the bleachers after the parade so that we can introduce the team personnel, including the coaching staff. We will also be hosting a tug-of-war competition between the teams. We hope you are able to join us at one or many of the events that will be taking place throughout the week. I have attached the schedule for you to have and please reach out if you have any questions. If you are a parent of a freshman student we are looking for donations of water (individual bottles) and small bottles of gatorade to sell at the football game as well as the dance. You may drop off any donations in the main office. Homecoming Schedule 2019-final
Just another quick reminder that we need to collect the free/reduced lunch forms from every student whether they qualify or not. If you have misplaced your student’s form and need another one please call the main office and we will be happy to send home another copy.
Each week in my newsletter to the staff I do a “shout-out” to a staff member(s) who have gone above and beyond the “normal” duties of a teacher. I believe it is important to recognize the work that others outside of the school are doing as well and so I would like to give a shout-out to the All Sports’ Boosters. They do a tremendous amount of work that supports all of our student athletes throughout the year. It is never too late to join this group and all are welcome to attend their monthly meetings. Their next meeting will be Tuesday, October 15th at 6:00 pm in the library. LET’S GO EAGLES!
Enjoy the week
Paula
